2-3 time a week.
That’s how often average couples have sex. The numbers of course differ from person to person, but the truth is sex is not a numbers game. When we are sexually aroused, our dopamine levels rise up and at the time of orgasm we have a dopamine whirlwind, which some researchers compare to the effects of heroin on the brain.
Unfortunately, just like you can’t perform well at work if you are tired and stressed, you can’t get that same level of dopamine boost joy with your partner, if you are not healthy. Let’s all agree nothing can be more frustrating than lack of spark or vitality in your sex life.
Here are some tips on how to make sure your partner will always ask for more:
- Reduce stress levels. Although this sounds like a very basic statement, there are in fact a lot of studies that prove the link between stress and sexual performance. Stress disrupts the work of our hormones thus creating both physical and psychological problems in both men and women. There is a number of biohacks you can use to reduce stress. Some of the most apparent ones are sleep and meditation. Get yourself a proper 8 hours of sleep or have a power-nap if you can’t afford that much.
- Exercise. People who exercise on a regular basis have better sexual stamina and sexual performance. Firstly, physical exercise stimulates the release of hormones and triggers physiological reactions that boost libido. Secondly, the emotional awareness of being healthy and fit gives you a better outlook on life, which then translates into a better sex life. Plus, regular exercise stimulates growth of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which naturally leads to enhanced blood flow to the genital area.
- Boost your testosterone. Figuring out how to biohack testosterone (aka “T”) has been a hot topic for the past decade. There are plenty promising supplements and pills available in the market. But do they work? One of the speakers at Biohacker Summit Stockholm and co-author of the Biohacker’s Handbook Olli Sovijärvi has written a pretty extensive article on this subject.
- Optimize your environment. Our speaker Vessi Jalkanen is not embarrassed or shy to talk about genital health.
While running his company Salli Systems Jalkanen has dived deeply into the topic of genital health. His saddle chairs solve precisely that problem – how to sit without disturbing one’s circulation and metabolism and thus one’s health and productivity. You can try the Salli Swing model, which allows you to sit and train your core muscles at the same time at the Biohacker Summit exhibitor area.
- Do your own research. It is often the case that if you want to truly know how things work, you have to dive deep into the literature or listen to experts. At Biohacker Summit we aim to give you all the tools and resources you need to achieve better living through science, technology and nature. It is up to you how you implement what you have learned.
See you at the Biohacker Summit in Stockholm, where Vessi Jalkanen is one of the speakers.
